This is the latest (as of 30/07/11) Sky Router. Very few people seem to have received this so far. It is apparently silver in colour.

Chipset

The SagemCom F@ST 2504N is based upon the Broadcom BCM6362 chipset (http://www.broadcom.com/products/features/BCM6362.php). Interestingly this chipset has DECT phone capabilities but from what I have heard of this router, it does not take advantage of them. The BCM6362 also has built in 802.11n support. Looking at the administration pages (xdslcfg.html), there are options for enabling VDSL2, it is therefore likely that this router has VDSL2 capabilities (probably in readiness for Sky FTTC).

Filesystem

The filesystem is a modified version of SquashFS 4.0 with LZMA support, it has the same format as the F@ST 2304n and D-Link DSL-2640S.

Firmware

The latest Sky firmware can be downloaded using the auto-update method:

The downloaded image will be prefixed with an openssl signature, this needs to be deleted using a hex editor if you wish to extract it using my Broadcom Firmware Tool. You need to delete everything before "6 Broadcom Corporatio".
